Privacy Policy for CliNeat

Last updated: August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the CliNeat application (“the App”) processes, stores, and protects information.

CliNeat is designed as a clinical and practice-management tool for medical and aesthetic practitioners. Its core privacy principle is local, encrypted data ownership.

We do not host, access, or collect your sensitive clinical data on our own remote servers.

1. Data Collection and Storage

The App processes personal and sensitive information, including:

Local Storage

All patient and clinical data entered into the App is stored locally on the user’s device.

Encryption

The local database is encrypted using SQLCipher with 256-bit AES encryption to help protect patient records from unauthorized access.

No Cloud Harvesting

We do not transmit, synchronize, or back up clinical data to our own servers.

The practitioner retains ownership and control of the data and acts as the Data Controller.

2. Device Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

Camera

android.permission.CAMERA

The camera is used only for functions such as:

Images are saved to the App’s local storage and are not uploaded to our servers.

Biometrics

android.permission.USE_BIOMETRIC

Biometric authentication is used to protect access to the App through its PIN or biometric lock screen.

Biometric information is processed by the Android operating system. CliNeat does not access, collect, or store biometric data.

3. Backups and Data Export

App Backups

The App allows users to create backup files.

These files may be stored locally on the device or in personal storage selected by the user, including services such as Google Drive.

The user is responsible for securely storing and managing backup files.

Financial Exports

The App may generate PDF files or data reports for accounting and administrative purposes.

These files are created locally and shared only through the Android sharing menu to a destination selected by the user.

4. Third-Party Services

CliNeat does not share clinical data with advertising or analytics networks.

The App may use the following third-party service:

Google Play Billing

Google Play Billing is used only to manage subscriptions and payments for access to the App.

Google processes payment information securely. CliNeat does not receive or store the user’s full credit-card details.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because data is stored locally, users control how long it is retained.

Users may delete patient records, visits, documents, or photographs from within the App.

Uninstalling the App or clearing its data through Android settings may permanently delete the encrypted local database and associated records.

Users should create and securely store a backup before deleting the App or clearing its data.

6. Practitioner Responsibilities

The practitioner is responsible for patient information stored through the App and may be considered the Data Controller under applicable privacy and medical-record laws.

Depending on location, these may include:

Practitioners are responsible for:

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
